QUICKSTEPS TO A FRUIT COMPOSITION


Een kleine compositie bestaande uit een kleine gele appel met het droge blad er nog aan, een grote rode van Boskoop en een kweepeer . In de herfst gedaan in opdracht van tijdschrift Atelier.
A small composition containing a small yellow apple with dried leaves attached, a large red Boskoop and a quince. Done one autumn for magazine Atelier.

Stap 1 - Step 1

Lichte penseeltekening om de compositie te definieren.



Light brush drawing to define the composition.

Stap 2 - Step 2

Achtergrond en contouren van de vruchten worden tegen elkaar afgezet.



Contours of the fruits are set against a background.

Stap 3 - Step 3

De 'ding ' kleuren worden toegevoegd. Klein appeltje, rode appel en kweepeer.



The ' thing ' colors are added. Small appel, red apple and quince.

Stap 4 - Step 4

Quicksteps? Niet helemaal. De laatste stap kan dagen of weken tijd vragen. In veel kunstwerken is het begin snel en gemakkelijk. Het is tegen het eind dat de dingen moeilijk worden. De angel zit in de staart.

De achtergrond van de compositie is over en over bewerkt.



Quicksteps? Not quite. The last step may take days or weeks. In most works of art the start is quick and easy. It's towards the end that the troubles begin. The sting is in the tail.

The background of the composition has been worked over and over again.

Nasturtium, the Sequel Stap 1 - Step 1




Opzet direct met toegevoegde kleurelementen. Tekening en kleurvlekken gelijktijdig.

Direct take off with added color elements. Drawings and color patches simultaniously.

Het losse papier is nu met wit papieren plakband op een plankje gespannen en krijgt een tweede
laag waterverf.

The loose paper has now been stretched onto a board with white paper tape and gets a second layer of watercolor.

Stap 4- Step 4


Het eindresultaat. Een lichte achtergrond in grijstinten, samengesteld uit de 3 primaire kleuren,
rood , geel en blauw.

Temporary final result . A light background in shades of gray, composed from the 3 primary colors ,
red, yellow and blue.

NASTURTIUM IN 7 STAPPEN - NASTURTIUM IN7STEPS

Stap 1 - Step 1

Het begint met bijna niets. Een penseeltekening in een bleke neutrale mengkleur.


It starts with next to nothing. A brush-drawing in a pale neutral color mix.

Stap 2 - Step 2

Eerste voorzichtige indicatie van licht en donkerder partijen
First careful indication of light and darker parts.

Stap 3 - Step 3

Tweede indicatie van vormen, contrasten and kleuren. Uitgespaard papier- wit voor lichtgele bloemen
Second indication of forms, contrasts and colors. Saved white of paper for light yellow flowers.

Stap 4 - Step 4

Eerste algemene kleurlaag , oranje , geel , donker kannetje.


Fisrt all-over color layer , orange, yellow , dark little tin jug.

Stap 5 - Step 5

Tweede algemene kleurbehandeling; opvoeren contrasten.


Second all-over color treatment; enhancing contrasts.

Stap 6 - Step 6

Eindresultaat in passepartout.
